Press Release Summary: For those holidaying in Scotland this year, luxury extras and
grandeur properties are high on people's wish list when it comes to accommodation,
according to Scotland's leading specialist holiday lettings agency, Cottages &
Castles Ltd.

Press Release Body: Visitors have become increasingly discerning in recent years
with luxury fitted kitchens, games rooms and broadband internet access in high
demand. However, it's not just the additional extras that count! The grandeur of the
property and traditional style is increasingly in demand as people desire to live
the Scottish dream in a beautiful castle.

Sue Bourne, Manager of Cottages & Castles said: "We have many spectacular castles
for rent throughout the summer in some of Scotland's most spectacular locations.
Each castle is a one-off with extremely high standards of interior furnishing, many
luxurious extras and personal touches that you won't find in a hotel room. Many
celebrities have rented castles through us and you too can become king of a castle
this summer."

Cottages & Castles has experienced an increase in bookings this year, with visitors
coming from mainland Europe and further afield to stay in a Scottish castle or
cottage and live the Scottish dream for a few days or weeks.

Sue Bourne continued: "Our customers are increasingly discerning and the real growth
in the market is from repeat visitors, who want a traditional Scottish experience in
a high quality property, whether with the whole family, or with a group of friends.
This year however, we expect to see an increase in the number of UK holiday makers
booking castles and luxury cottages as more decide to holiday at home as the Euro
remains high."
Some examples of castles and outstanding country mansions that typify the level of
luxury that visitors can expect include:
Law Castle is one of Scotland's most luxurious and exclusive holiday homes. The
castle dates back to the fifteenth century and was built as a wedding gift for
Princess Mary, the eldest daughter of James II of Scotland. This grade A listed
property has been magnificently restored to its former glory ensuring its original
character exists. The kitchen typifies this where modern appliances sit side by side
with medieval ovens and a chimney rising to the parapet. What is now the formal
great hall of this spectacular castle once served as a courtroom and comes complete
with a pit prison behind a flagstone trap door. On the ground floor there are two
vaulted rooms, one a bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, and the other a utility
room. Many of the shuttered windows dotted around the castle have seats in small
chambers set into the thickness of the wall. The spiral staircase continues to the
roof level, where there is an unusual \'Caphouse\', formerly the guards\' lookout.
There are views over the quiet village of West Kilbride towards the Firth of Clyde
and the Isle of Arran.

Persie House is the perfect rural idyll and popular with many famous visitors who
regularly grace the pages of most celebrity magazines and newspapers. This is a
wonderful house engulfed in peaceful tranquillity and surrounded by the beautiful
Perthshire countryside. When approached from the front drive this enchanting
Edwardian country house with its turreted facade, emerges through the trees with a
welcoming grandeur. The drawing room, with its open fire has a comfortable elegance,
whilst the study provides a cosy retreat in which to spend some quiet time sitting
in front of a roaring log fire. The dining room, which can comfortably seat
eighteen, is a fabulous setting for candlelit dining whether it be a formal dinner
or more relaxed family meals, and then retire to the games room to play table tennis
or move back the furniture and dance the night away. With ten comfortable and
traditionally furnished bedrooms to choose from and a handy dormitory sleeping five
- ideal for children - this is the ultimate hideaway whether for larger parties or
more intimate gatherings.

Toftcombs House is a classic large country property set in the heart of the Scottish
Borders, enjoying far reaching views across attractive farmland. This Baronial style
red sandstone house was once home to the Gladstone family from which Prime Minister
William Gladstone was a member. Today a much loved family home, Toftcombs provides
excellent rental accommodation, with the warm welcoming ambience of a country home
it also provides guests with all modern conveniences. The large bedrooms, many of
which are en suite are tastefully furnished and extremely comfortable; the charming
and elegant drawing room boasts an open log fire and a beautiful bay window with
lovely views over the surrounding gardens. The snug sitting room has a television
and is a great place to relax in the evenings and the exceptionally generous kitchen
is highly equipped. The charming Minstrel gallery gives the house its unique edge,
with stunning stain glass windows adding to the overall appeal of the property.
